About Me

Hey! I'm Cassie! Welcome to my blog, which I've started just to document what's going on at this very exciting time in my life! Let me tell you a little about me...

I was born and raised in the south, the oldest of 3 children born to the most loving, supportive Mama and Daddy a girl could ask for. I've been blessed with an amazing family that I don't know what I'd do without.

I got married when I was 20 to my high school boyfriend, but the marriage ended in divorce after 6 long years.  It was definitely not the plan I'd had for my life, but God had HIS plans, and it's, of course, turned out to be a million times better that my own. Because of this experience, I've gained so much knowledge about myself, the kind of person I want to be, and the kind of life I want to have. I'm a better version of myself. I can now see that this experience shaped me into who I am supposed to be. But most importantly, through this experience, the two most important people in the whole world to me came into my life.

My precious daughter Allie Elizabeth turns 5 this year, and she's truly my greatest blessing. She changed my world in so many wonderful ways when she was born, and I can't seem to gush enough about how much I love being her mommy.

I met the love of my life in March 2013. I met one of my best girlfriends about 5-6 years ago, through our husbands, who were best friends for years. We ended up having daughters 3 months apart in age, and  spent a lot of time together during our marriages. Of course, we quickly became best friends-a friendship which continued to thrive after both our divorces. She later introduced me to her stepbrother, Bruce, who, very quickly, made me fall wildly, crazy, madly in love with him. He makes me the best possible version of myself.  He is my soul-mate, the love of my life, the one I was always meant to be with and I am so blessed to have found him.

We got married on March 21, 2014 and are busy living our happily ever after. 

I'm so blessed that I get to share my life with these two wonderful people. 

I also have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's of Library and Information Studies. I've worked in public libraries for several years and I currently work in a high school library. I love my work. I love to read myself and I'm very passionate about instilling a love of reading in young people.

I also am really passionate about cooking for and with the people I love; working out and becoming physically fit; watching all sports, but especially football; being outdoors; learning about and developing responsible financial behaviors; and just enjoying life while spending time with the people I love!
